Aims & Objectives

 

 

ARCALL is a group of innovative language teaching professionals from Argentina which aims to:  

 

  • increase the use of educational technology in EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teaching,

 

  • collaborate in the integration of ICT in Argentina in ways that are effective and appropiate,

  • assist teachers in integrating ICT into their daily practises and as a means of developing themselves professionally,

  • train teachers on using computers and the Internet in English language teaching,

  • develop a Research Area to further apply new ideas into the classroom.

Activities

 

ARCALL: 

  • provides information and advice on all aspects of the use of technology for language learning, for those involved in education and training
  • organises special interest meetings and annual conferences

  • works towards the exploitation of electronic communications systems 

 

 

WorldCALL Associations

 

  • EUROCALL is affiliated with the following organisations in the field of computer-assisted and technology-enhanced language learning. The main benefit to members of all the organisations is that their members may attend EUROCALL conferences at the EUROCALL member's rate, and similarly EUROCALL members may attend the conferences of other organisations without paying an additional membership fee.

 

  • CALICO (Computer Assisted Language Instruction Consortium) is a professional organisation that serves a membership involved in both education and high technology. http://calico.org/

 

  • IALLT (International Association for Language Learning Technology) is a professional organisation dedicated to promoting effective uses of media centres for language teaching, learning, and research. http://www.iallt.org  

 What are ARCALL activities?

 The activities of the SIG will include:

  • Sharing information with other members on recent developments in CMC related applications, research and pedagogy through the SIG mailing list.
  • Gathering and publishing information about recent projects and publications through our website and mailing list.
  • Organising pre-conference workshops at ARCALL conferences. Organising regional workshops in members' home institutions which will enable members to make others aware of ARCALL's work.
  • Collaborating together on the development of international project proposals.
  • Encouraging SIG members to visit each others' institutions with the aim of developing collaboration.
  • Establishing links with other organisations' special interest groups working in related areas.
